I'm having a problem getting the plugin to work.

I've downloaded and installed Scriptegrator plugin, set that up correctly. Configured Downloader and pointed that at my images/podcast directory.

But when I add the download link I always get file not found and in the images/podcast directory it's writing an .htaccess with the one line "Deny from All"

Which of course means my Podcasts stop working as well!

What am I doing wrong?

The .htaccess is necessary to prevent the direct access to this directory from web browser.
You need to write the relative path to your file from the /images/podcast directory. No absolute path like "/home/www/.../images/podcast" or live path like "mywebsite.com/images/podcast/". Just the file name if the file is stored in podcast directory. Example:
{downloader file="my_video.avi"}

I do have the path set up correctly because it's writing the .htaccess file in the images/podcast directory, but I always get the file not found message. Excatly thye same file name is used for streaming audio.

Sadly this will not work for what I need. If it requires the .htaccess (even though I want full public access to download), as soon as it generates the .htaccess then my streaming audio stop working.

I'm just looking for a way to stream audio and download file without needing to have that file duplicated. Wordpress had a great plugin that did both but can not find one for Joomla.

I'll play around a bit tonight, maybe I can get it working.

Hi, well, unfortunately the Downloader plugin means "files available to download", not "audio to streaming".
Try to look on other extension in Multimedia section on Joomla! official repository.

You misunderstand. The streaming side works perfectly and have that fully operational. I'm looking to make the file easily downloadable without having to have it in two different locations.

Basically streaming and download all from from the same "page".
