Pre-Requirements

1. Install and enable Core Design Scriptegrator plugin. Scriptegrator plugin.

1. Visit Scriptegrator plugin configuration and set the "Load jQuery to" option to "Site" (or "Admin" or "Both").

Setup

1. Install the plugin.
2. Open plugin configuration and don't forget to publish it.
3. Visit (frontend) article you want to protect with password as authorized user (Author, Editor, Administrator or Super Administrator).
4. You'll see an lock icon at the top of article (below article title):

   

5. Click on the icon, enter the password to the prompt window and re-enter the password again. Optional you can fill the header text to show custom message in article.
6. Now you can log-out to check if the article is protected correctly.

The password is stored encoded in database (MD5 hash).
